Nishant Sindhu is an Indian cricketer, best known for being a part of the Under-19 Indian cricket team that won the World Cup in 2022. He scored a century in the final match against England in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2022.

Nishant’s father’s name is Sunil Kumar, who works in a private company. His father used to box and he wanted to become a boxer, but due to family problems he could not become a boxer. His mother’s name is Vandana, who is a school teacher.
Cricket
Nishant started his cricket career in 2017, he played the Under-14 Dhruv Pandove Trophy tournament held in Patiala. He scored 290 runs and took 24 wickets in the tournament for Haryana. Later, in the same year, he became a part of the Under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy tournament and played his 61st match for Haryana against Delhi. He scored 122 runs and became the top scorer in the tournament. In 2019, Nishant performed very well for Haryana in the Under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy, scoring 53 runs as they defeated Jharkhand.
He made his international debut on 27 December 2021 by playing Under-19 ODI against Afghanistan in Dubai. He has been a part of other international ODI matches against countries like Sri Lanka, Australia, West Indies, England and Bangladesh. In 2021, he scored 299 runs and 12 wickets for Haryana in the Under-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy tournament.
Under-19 Cricket World Cup
In 2021, Nishant was selected for the India Under-19 team for the Asia Cup and Under-19 World Cup. The Indian team won the tournament by 4 wickets in the final match against England.
When Yash Dhull tested positive for COVID-19 during the World Cup tournament, Nishant led the Indian team for two matches against Ireland and Uganda. Nishant also tested Covid-19 positive and could not play the quarter-final match against Bangladesh. After recovering from Covid-19, he played the semi-final match against Australia. In the final match against England, he scored fifty runs on fifty-four balls.

- Nishant’s father wanted Nishant to become a boxer and play for India. According to his father, he noticed Nishant’s interest in cricket when he saw the joy on Nishant’s face after India won the T20 World Cup in 2007. His father bought him a plastic cricket bat to play cricket. Talking about this in an interview, his father said,
I always wanted him to be a sportsman, be it cricket or boxing. I decided that I would never let anything come between him and his dream. He wanted to play cricket and I decided to support him with my last money.
