Nikola Tesla’s Death
At the age of 81, Tesla had an unfortunate accident while making frequent trips to the church and library to feed pigeons. In the accident, his back was crushed and three of his ribs were broken.
Then, on January 7, 1943, at the age of 86, his body was found by his maid Alice Monaghan in room 3327 of the New Yorker Hotel. The assistant medical examiner HW Wembley examined the body and concluded that the cause of death was a type of heart attack known as coronary thrombosis. His state funeral was attended by about two thousand people at St. John the Divine in Manhattan, followed by a cremation at Ferncliff Cemetery in Ardsley, New York.
