She won her first gold medal at the AIBA Youth Women’s World Boxing Championships (2017) held in Guwahati. In 2018, she won the gold medal in the Asian Youth Boxing Championship by defeating Thai boxer Nilada Meekoon. After suffering a shoulder injury in 2019, he had to rest for almost two years. In 2022, he participated in the 73rd Strandja Memorial Boxing Tournament held in Sofia, Bulgaria. In this, he won the gold medal by defeating Italian boxer Prisciandaro 5-0. In an interview, Neetu while talking about her comeback and winning the gold medal said,
I heard that Strandja is one of the oldest boxing tournaments and I feel very proud to win gold for my country. Now, I want to move forward step by step this year. We have the World Championships and I want to focus my full attention on that and win a gold medal there. I want to sit with (coach) Bhaskar Bhatt sir and other coaches to work on my strengths and weaknesses. I want to prepare there and give my best performance.
In 2022, she qualified for the Commonwealth Games by defeating Indian boxer Mary Kom. Neetu Ghanghas’ stance is Southpaw and her coaches are Bhaskar Bhatt and Jagdish Singh.
In March 2023, she won the gold medal by defeating Lutsaikhan Altantsetseg of Mongolia in the 48 kg final at the Women’s World Boxing Championships held in New Delhi.

- In his teens, his father took him to Bhiwani Boxing Club (BBC) in Haryana to begin boxing training. He even risked his job to train with his daughter. Neetu said in an interview,
My father was on ‘leave without pay’ for several days for my training. “They had to borrow money from their friends and relatives to meet the family expenses.”
- At the age of 15, she lost control while driving a two-wheeler and collided with a tractor. His pelvic bone was injured in the accident. Talking about the accident in an interview, he said,
I was in a lot of pain. At first no one paid attention to it, but then a time came when I could not turn to the right.”
- In 2016, she joined SAI National Boxing Academy, a boxing training academy in Rohtak, Haryana.
- In 2019, she started using her right hand for hitting in boxing instead of being left-handed, which put pressure on her right hand. As a result, he suffered a grade 2 wound to his right shoulder. While talking about his shoulder injury during an interview, he said,
I fought four battles in tremendous pain. My right hand was not used to that kind of weight. Looking back, that was a stupid mistake on my part. I never stopped exercising, took painkillers and continued to fight. But if you’re a young, up-and-coming boxer who’s eager to achieve something, you’re pushing the limits a lot.”
She remained out of the national camp due to injury. His training was also affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in 2020. Talking about this in an interview he said,
To be honest, I was in a very dark place. I thought about quitting boxing. I could never think clearly. When my shoulder healed, I slowly started training at home. Later, my father secretly took me to the academy during the lockdown.
