Neetu Vanajakshi was born as Manjunath on Friday, 26 February 1993 (age 30 years; as in 2023) in Gadag, Karnataka. His zodiac sign is Pisces. He did his schooling from Model High School, Gadag-Bettigeri, Karnataka. Later, he did BBA from a college in Bangalore and Animation Diploma from KEEN School of Art, Bangalore.

Neetu Vanajakshi was born a boy and grew up in a conservative family. He became aware of his gender identity when he was 11 years old. However, he kept it hidden for many years. Later, when he went to Bangalore for studies, he met some transgender people there and became friends with them. Later, she began taking hormonal treatments for the transition and also underwent medical treatment and surgery to complete her transformation into a transwoman. She also changed her name from Manjunath to Neethu Vanjakshi.

After realizing her gender identity as a third gender, Neethu kept it hidden for many years as she was the only son in her family and had responsibilities to her family. They feared that their family would not accept them as a third gender. Later, he decided to fulfill his duties towards his family before revealing his gender identity to them. Talking about this in an interview he said,
When I came to Bengaluru in 2007, I saw many people, especially transpersons, begging. I was sure that if I did my duty towards my family, completed my education and showcased my talent, they would accept me. Then gender won’t matter.”
After completing his studies he became a successful tattoo artist. Later, he opened a beauty parlor for his sister and a restaurant for his mother. She then felt that she had fulfilled her duty towards her family and decided to open up to her family about her identity as a third gender. First, she revealed her gender identity in 2016 by taking her sister to an LGBTQ party. Initially his sister found it difficult to believe this but later she accepted him with the third gender identity. Later, when he told his mother about this, she went into depression for a long time. However, later he also accepted it.
