Nayyar Ijaz or Nayyar Ijaz is a famous Pakistani film and television actor. He is popular for playing the villain Salman in the Pakistani TV serial Dhuwaan (1994) and Kali Das in Laag (1998).

Nayyar Ijaz was born on Wednesday, 11 September 1963 (age 59 years; as of 2022) in Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan. His zodiac sign is Virgo. Later, he moved to Lahore for his studies, where he lived with one of his elder brothers. Initially, Nayyar Ijaz wanted to be a cricketer, and played at the under-19 level. He has also played some first-class matches and grade cricket. While he was studying cricket in Lahore, he had to return to Quetta due to his father’s illness. It was in Quetta that he was discovered as an actor by PTV director Tariq Mairaj at a clothes shop owned by his friend. At that time he was completing his matriculation. Later, after a brief stint with the federal government in Quetta, he did FA, BA and MA in Political Science.

When Nayyar Ejaz was in ninth grade, he played the role of a father in a TV serial in which Pakistani actress Azra Aftab played the role of his daughter. Talking about this in an interview, he said,

Once, when I was in ninth grade, I played the role of a father in a TV serial, where Azra Aftab played my daughter! People thought I could get away with playing this role because I looked and sounded much older than my age.”

He completely entered the Pakistani entertainment industry around 1984 or ’85. Ijaz was standing at one of his friend’s clothes shops when his husky voice and charming demeanor attracted Tariq Mairaj. Four days later, Mairaj approached Ejaz to cast him in a play. At first, Ejaz was hesitant to enter showbiz due to his lack of acting skills. However, with a little encouragement he agreed to work in the play. Soon, Ejaz made his acting debut with the TV show Zindagi Jis Ke Naam, Asghar Nadeem Syed’s first drama, in which he played the role of a sleazy profit-hungry producer. He gained recognition from the TV show Dasht (1993), in which he played the role of a stuttering young man named Sheikh who witnesses the murders of his parents.

In the beginning of his career, Ejaz did a lot of work for the channel PTV. In 1994, he came into limelight with the TV show Dhuvan, playing the role of Salman, a business tycoon and drug kingpin who has links with narcotics and other criminal activities. The show was telecast on PTV Home.
