Navneet Kalra was born on 16 October 1971 (age 50 years; as in 2021) in New Delhi. Navneet Kalra received his schooling from the prestigious Delhi Public School, RK Puram. Before starting his career as an entrepreneur, he received his higher education from the College of Vocational Studies, Delhi University.
Family
His father, Dayal Das Kalra, ran an optical business called DayalOpticals in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi. Navneet had a close relationship with his father, whom he considers his role model. He is married to Shehla (Kitty) Kalra, a celebrity fitness expert, health coach and motivator.
livelihood
Following his father’s footsteps, Navneet Kalra decided to start his own business. He set up a textile enterprise in Delhi at the young age of 19. After running the venture for over a decade, Kalra closed it down and moved on to new business opportunities.
In the late 1990s, he ventured into the optics business and expanded DayalOpticals to several locations in Delhi NCR. His work brought immense popularity to DayalOpticals and established the business as a leader in eyewear.
Entering Hospitality
Along with this, Navneet Kalra also explored other business opportunities. He ventured into the hospitality sector by gradually setting up several restaurants at prime locations in New Delhi.
Kalra’s first hospitality venture was a restaurant called Blanco. His most prominent hospitality ventures are a high-end Pan-Asian restaurant, Town Hall and a popular kebab and roll eatery, Khan Chacha – at Khan Market and several other premium venues in Delhi NCR. The restaurant boasts of an exclusive guest list, with celebrities like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Shikhar Dhawan, Jas Arora, Harbhajan Singh, Geeta Basra and Sangeeta Bijlani among its regular diners.
Some of Navneet Kalra’s other successful restaurants in Delhi include Public Affair and Mister Choy in Khan Market, Kakapo in Mehrauli and Nage & Ju in Lodhi Road. He is also active in the hospitality business abroad, being a partner in Karma – The Modern Indian Restaurant in Washington DC, USA.
Khan Chacha, a food outlet in Khan Market, was started in 1972 as a small food joint. However, with the business acumen of owner Navneet Kalra, Khan Chacha has registered rapid growth, and cemented its position as the best kebab and roll eatery at many premium locations in Delhi/NCR. These include Select Citywalk, Connaught Place, Aerocity, Galleria Gurgaon and others. Khan Chacha is popular as a heaven for food lovers in the city.

Khan Chacha owner Navneet Kalra is a fitness enthusiast. He enjoys outdoor activities such as swimming and cycling. He also enjoys playing golf. Kalra also travels frequently. Although most of his travels are to parts of Europe on work-related trips, he cites New Zealand as his favorite holiday destination.
