Narayana Das Narang was one of the most popular filmmakers in the Telugu film industry. He has worked with industry superstars including Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu and Naga Chaitanya and has produced over 650 films in his career. One of her most successful last films was the Telugu language musical romantic-drama film ‘Love Story’ (2021). The film stars actors Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in lead roles, with Rajeev Kanakala, Devayani, Ishwari Rao and Uttej playing supporting roles. The film was released in theaters on September 24, 2021, to mixed reviews from critics, who praised Chaitanya and Pallavi’s performances while criticizing its extended running time. The film made Rs. Earned Rs. It earned Rs 8.75 crore on the first day in India, which is the biggest collection since theaters reopened and films started resuming operations after the second Covid wave. The film grossed over Rs 60 crore at the box office despite a budget of Rs 30 crore, making it a commercially successful effort. Talking about the film, Narayan Das Narang said,
When I first heard this story I was a little scared. But we decided to do so after hearing the entire story. It includes all kinds of emotions along with sports. Naga Shaurya was sent as soon as he heard the story. As soon as he heard, he became determined to do so. It was later co-produced by North Star Entertainments and Sarath Marar. The film Love Story was a big success for us. It was also a commercial success. Shekhar Kammula gave us a good film. The amount that came to us at that time was very high. The films vary from week to week. Target film is coming this week. There have been no archery based films yet. That thing impressed everyone. Arouses interest.”
Apart from being a film producer, Narayan Das Narang also proved himself as a successful businessman. In collaboration with Mahesh Babu, Vijay Deverakonda and Allu Arjun, he established major multiplexes such as AMB Cinemas, Avid Cinemas and AAA Cinemas. He himself was the co-owner of AMB Cinemas in Hyderabad.
Death
Narayan Das Narang breathed his last on 19 April 2022 at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was suffering from various age related ailments for some months. The entire Telugu film fraternity was shocked to hear the news of his demise. Indian film critic and trade expert Taran Adarsh confirmed the news with a condolence message on Twitter. He has written,

Online ticketing is good. No one has any problem with this. Otherwise the ticket rates are shameful. Rates are good in Telangana. But the situation is not good in AP. We are discussing this matter with the government. Hope to get positive response soon. If the whole country is going in one direction, can’t we go in the other direction? Rates will definitely have to be increased. The theaters we have are nowhere else in the country. The theaters are built with the latest touches. Audiences also want to watch movies in such theatres. In my opinion, it would be better for the industry if the rates were neither too high nor too low. Even though the audience is very large, they cannot come to the theaters.
