Case registered under extortion charges after threatening to implicate in fake rape case
Namra Qadir sparked controversy when she was arrested by the Gurgaon Police on 5 November 2022 based on a complaint by Dinesh Yadav, a Badshahpur resident and owner of an advertising firm, who accused Namra and her husband Virat Beniwal of allegedly extorting money. Was accused of. Took Rs 80 lakh from her, blackmailed her through her personal intimate photographs and threatened to implicate her in a fake rape case. Dinesh revealed that Namra invited him to a party and forced him to drink alcohol after which she took him to a hotel room, where she recorded her intimate photos and threatened him with death if she faked rape. If she is not implicated in the charges then she will give the money. Dinesh filed a complaint in August 2022, which read,
I had seen his videos on social media and interacted with him. She introduced me to (her husband), who is also a YouTuber. They agreed to work with my company and asked for Rs 2 lakh advance, which I paid the same day. Later for some advertising work he asked for Rs 50,000 and I transferred it to his account. She said she would return the money after her sister’s marriage. I also liked her and we started hanging out together and (her husband) was always with her. One day, they took me to a club to party and forced me to drink alcohol. Then all three of us booked a room in the hotel and slept. The next morning, he asked for my card and smartwatch and blackmailed me by threatening to file a rape case against me if I refused to do so.

After Dinesh filed the complaint, Namra refused to appear for investigation and filed an interim bail plea. On 18 November 2022, the district court rejected his bail plea, following which an FIR was filed against him under sections 388 (extortion by threatening to make a person guilty of an offense punishable with death or life imprisonment), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 506 Was recorded. (criminal intimidation), sections 34 (common intention), and 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc.) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
