Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun-jin, both South Korean actors, have been cast in the lead roles in the upcoming historical melodrama The Lovers. MBC confirmed the news on January 13 through their Instagram account. The film will be directed by Kim Sung-yong and written by Hwang Jin-young.
The historical romance takes place during the Joseon period. It tells the story of a boy who swore that he would never fall in love again. However, he falls in love with a girl who has gone through two troubled marriages behind his back. The woman dreams about finding a new love. In the upcoming film, characters Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun-jin will explore the themes of love and marriage.

Namgoong Min will play the role of Lee Jang-hyun, an unusual guy who suddenly appears in the upper society of Neunggeun village. It seems cold and inaccessible.
