After two children and almost five years of dating, The Bachelor alum Bekah Martinez just got engaged to her partner Grayston Leonard. On July 10, the couple took to Instagram to reveal photos of their love, including her sizable gold ring with a heart-shaped diamond.

Grayston Leonard, 33, the owner of Long Beach Rising, has been in a relationship with Bekah Martinez since 2018. Leonard, who was born in 1988, is a fitness trainer, dietician and rock climber. Leonard is also an actress, starring in the 2005 TV series Close To Home and the 2008 short film Driven. She is also the host of the podcast “Evan Ambrose appears on @chattybrospodcast. He also runs “allriseoutdoors,” an experimental initiative that aims to “make outdoor activities more accessible to the poor.”

Grayston Leonard and Bekah Martinez began dating after her season of The Bachelor with Arie Luyendyk Jr. ended. ended in 2018. That February, the two started dating. In February 2019, the couple welcomed their first child, daughter Ruth Ray De La Luz, after three years of dating. Franklin James, the couple’s son, was born a year later, in 2020.
This was the couple’s second proposal. Leonard previously proposed to Chatty Broads podcast co-host. The Bachelorette claimed to fantasize about her boyfriend’s impending proposal in a TikTok video uploaded in June, then shared a photo of her hand with an engagement ring on it. In the title she wrote:
“Remembering that he proposed to me three years ago, and I said no, but I took a photo anyway.”
She rejected him instantly because the timing was wrong. Leonard proposed to Martinez just 14 days after the birth of the couple’s first child. She explained in a TikTok follow-up:
“He proposed to me barely two weeks later, the day after Valentine’s Day, and I thought, ‘This is really nice, but now is not the time.'” I’m still pretty hormonal. I’m in the throes of postpartum depression.’”
She went on to say:
“Besides, our relationship was still not in an ideal state. We had a lot to agree on, a lot to talk about, and I didn’t want engagement and marriage just because we had a child. I wanted it to be something unique, something we were both encouraged to do for each other. It’s just the two of us.”

Martinez’s life changed after they went to couples counseling and had their second child. Next time she was ready to say yes to his proposal. She stated:
“We have two kids, we’ve done a lot of couples therapy, and now I’m ready to say yes.” And when Leonard got down on one knee again and proposed to his lady, an elated Martinez immediately replied “Yes.”
