The couple has two sons and one of them is Nongthombam Ajay Singh. Ajay was accused of murdering a man named Roger in 2011. They also have a daughter, Anjubala Nongthongbam, who is married to RK Imo Singh, a politician. RK Imo Singh is the son of Rajkumar Jaichandra Singh, the first Union Minister of Manipur.

N. Hiyainu Devi has a handloom and handicraft business in Manipur. He is also a social worker. In 2020, he launched the Anemia Mukt Manipur Poster Campaign under Bharat Vikas Parishad, Manipur at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
In the same year, he inaugurated the Imphal WPC store. This was the fourth WPC store in India by Hardie Smith, which was established to promote and supply eco-friendly WPC products in Manipur.
He also laid the foundation stone of a water supply scheme at Lamlongei Maning Leekai (Leihaopokpi), Imphal in 2021. The scheme was implemented by MOBEDS Manipur under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK).
