  • In 2012, Manini went to Jammu and Kashmir on a holiday with her parents and some family friends. They stayed near a BSF camp where they could easily hear the gunshots and that’s when they came to know that there was a shooting range where anyone could pick up a gun and practice hitting the target. After a few days, she saw her father shooting balloons on the balcony of their house with an air gun he had bought from a local fair and was fascinated. Manini’s father hit 8 balloons out of 10 and she hit 10 balloons out of 10. Seeing her passion for the sport, Manini’s father took her to the shooting range the very next day and the range coach asked Manini to shoot and she hit a perfect target with a score of 10.9. His professional shooting journey started in 2014.
  • Manini’s grandmother, Usha Devi Kaushik, is also the biggest influence and supporter on her as she herself was a part of the National Cadet Corps (NCC); However; Living in a strict family, she could not continue her interest.
