Moloya Goswami was born on Tuesday, 9 February 1954 (age 68 years; as in 2022) in Dibrugarh, Assam, and brought up in Nagaon. Moloya’s father’s job was transferable, so he kept moving from one city to another, but Moloya and his sister had to stay in Nagaon due to their studies. She did her schooling from Nagaon Basic School and graduated from Handic Girls College. He did his post graduation from Gauhati University. During her undergraduate years, Molloya was a very active student. In an interview he said,
Although I was an average student, my teachers loved me. Recently I went to Nagaon to attend a meeting, there when my teachers saw me, they hugged me with great affection. Such incidents prove that teachers do not just favor brilliant students, they also love those who are honest and work hard to maintain their principles.
She was also selected to play in Assam’s first women’s hockey team. He decided to become a teacher after completing his master’s degree and joined Sonari College. In 1983, he started teaching at Jagiroad College.
Molloya started her acting career in the year 1985. Molloya’s husband Pradeep Goswami is said to have encouraged her to pursue a career in Assamese films.

She was an actress who started her career as an actor after marriage, whereas other Bollywood actresses had to break away from the camera and films after their marriage.
