Milind Chitragupta is an Indian musician best known for being a part of the film composer duo Anand-Milind. He is also known for being the son of musician Chiratagupta.

Milind Chitragupta also known as Milind Chitragupta was born on Sunday, 31 May 1959 (age 64 years; as in 2023) in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His zodiac sign is Gemini. When he was a child, he enjoyed reading film magazines, but his father encouraged him to read science magazines instead. Both Milind and his brother Anand were excellent students and were toppers in school. During his summer holidays, he used to take piano lessons from a woman named Suzanne Pinto in Bandra. He entered the industry at the age of 23 when his father fell ill and was bedridden for 18 months. Once his father recovered, he resumed his work and Milind started assisting him. During this period, Kishore Kumar generously provided many songs to his father and Anand started writing songs together with him. To support his father, Milind worked on documentary projects with Marathi directors and also played guitar at shows with Anoop Jalota.

- According to his brother Anand, there have been instances where he and Milind had differences of opinion while composing music. However, they resolved these disputes by discussing the tune at home and playing it for the producer the next day.
- In his first film “Ab Aayega Maza” released in 1984, he got a chance to sing with famous singer Lata Mangeshkar.

- In 2007, after a gap of six years, lyricists Sameer, Anand and Milind collaborated once again to create music. It was reported that they had experienced conflicts in the past, which led them to stop working with each other. By 2001, they had already collectively produced over 950 songs. However, in 2007, they decided to come together again for a Bhojpuri film titled “Saajan Sangh Laagi Laganiya Re”. Their differences were resolved by Sameer during a book launch function, where they acknowledged their partnership. In an interview, Milind mentioned that he approached Sameer and suggested that they should work together again, aiming to add 50 more songs to the already impressive number of 950. He denied any major feud with Sameer and clarified that they are unable to work together. Mainly due to being busy with personal projects.

- In an interview, he told that after the year 2000, it became a trend to use multiple musicians in the same film and he decided not to be a part of it. Of the 250 films in which he worked, he independently composed music for 150 films and even handled the background music for them. He further explained that the low production of his songs after 2000 was due to the fact that filmmakers like Harmesh Malhotra and Vimal Kumar had stopped making films.
- In an interview, Anand mentioned that he had composed around 1600 songs, and only seven or eight were accused of plagiarism. He explained that in those cases, he was forced by the producer and director to imitate a specific tune that he liked.
- The brother duo was nominated for many prestigious awards. He received a Filmfare Award nomination for the film “Dil” in 1991 and another nomination for the film “Baaghi: A Rebel for Love” in the same year in the category of Best Music. To celebrate this achievement, he organized a grand success party at the Country Club in Andheri area of Mumbai.
- In an interview, Alka Yagnik talked about the time when she met Anand and Milind and said,
In those days, Anand-Milind used to be his (Chitragupta ji) assistants. Anyway he doesn’t talk much and even in those days he talked very little. They would wander around quietly and work and I would wonder who they were. Then I realized that he is Chitragupta ji’s son and works as his assistant.”

One of his cousins holds a key position in RAW (Research and Analysis Wing), while another cousin was associated with the Income Tax Department.
