Athenna Crosby has confirmed that she was the friend who met Matthew for lunch the day before his death.
She gave a new interview to Fox News criticizing the rumor that her death was caused by a relapse.
“He was 100% sober when he died,” he stressed. “I mean, I can’t know what he was thinking or feeling exactly. I can only share my experience. And, of course, he was his own person and perhaps he had said, done or thought things the day he passed away that perhaps he would never know.”
She went on to say: “In the interaction I had with him, he was extremely positive, sober, acted normally, spoke very well and did not give me any impression that he was on drugs or alcohol of any kind. So I think people are speculating that this was a relapse situation. “I just want to defend it and say that it wasn’t like that.”
This is consistent with the initial results of a drug test, which confirmed that Matthew showed no signs of fentanyl or methamphetamine in his system at the time. Someone closer to the actor also confirmed that he was sober.
In another interview, Athenna revealed that Matthew had been working on a biopic at the time of his death. He even had an actor in mind to play him.
