Matthew William Lapinskas was born on February 27, 1989 in Surrey, England, United Kingdom. He is the son of John and Teresa Lapinskas and is of Canadian and Lithuanian descent. Jonathan Kieran Lapinskas, his older brother, was born in 1987. He attended Brooklands College to obtain a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts and became a member of their theater company, where he received many accolades for his performance in The Opposite of People.

Career
Matt Lapinskas appeared as an understudy in Stephen Surjik’s 2007 film I Want Candy, and in 2011 was cast as Anthony Moon in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. On 9 May 2012, Daniel Kilkelly of Digital Spy revealed that Lapinskas would be leaving EastEnders and that his character would disappear from the show in the coming weeks. In an interview with Inside Soap, Lapinskas said that EastEnders was his first job outside of show business and that he learned a lot from the people he worked with.
He was revealed as one of 12 VIPs to compete in the eighth season of Dancing on Ice in December 2012. He also toured the country as ‘Pharoah’ in Bill Kenwright’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. It was during this period that he met his current love, Camilla Rowland.
