Matt Damon described a scene where he had to kiss Scarlett Johansson as “hell,” and he shared the funny story about why it went so poorly.
If you forgot, the duo shared the screen in 2011′s We Bought a Zoo. While filming the movie, they shot a kiss scene twice. However, the second go-around was not as good as the first for one major reason.

During an appearance on LADbible, Matt explained that they shot the scene before and after lunch.
“What happened was, we did a shot before lunch, and it was this nice little two-shot that ended in the kiss. And it was really good. And we went to lunch, and she and I both thought it was over. She ate like an onion sandwich for lunch,” he recalled.
After lunch, they were doing more tight shots for the scene, which meant that they were kissing again. “She goes, ‘Oh s-it.’ She goes, ‘I literally just had, I had like an onion sandwich,’” he said.
By the sounds of it, they made the best of the situation by joking about it!
“I was making fun of her the entire time about her onion breath, which I didn’t even smell,” Matt said. “Her breath smells like roses!”
Even still, he joked about “how horrible that was” to kiss Scarlett, describing it as “hell.”
