Early life and childhood
Marlene Dietrich was born on December 27, 1901. His birthplace was Schöneberg, Berlin, Germany. María Magdalena Dietrich is her birth name.
Marlene was the daughter of Wilhelmina Elisabeth Josephine (mother) and Louis Erich Otto Dietrich (father). Her father was a police lieutenant and her mother was a businesswoman.
After his father died, his mother married someone else and lived happily there. She had a sister named Elisabeth. She was passionate about singing and playing the violin when he was younger.
