Marcus Thuram was born in the Italian city of Parma. His father, Lilliam Thuram, is a famous French soccer player, and his mother, Sandra Thuram. He was named after activist Marcus Garvey, according to his parents. Marcus has a younger brother named Khepren Thuram. Both brothers were obsessed with football and played with their father when they were boys. Marcus is of French nationality, but of African American descent. He has not yet declared his religion.
