After completing his graduation, Rajat struggled to find a job in the aviation industry. Later, he got a job as an analyst in a research firm. He was appreciated by his colleagues for his ability to make everyone laugh even in extremely stressful situations. Soon, Rajat realized that a corporate job was not suitable for him, and he left it to pursue his passion of stand-up comedy. In 2013, Rajat moved to Mumbai because there was a lack of comedy venues in Delhi. Rajat had to struggle to make people laugh in the beginning of his career. He also mentioned in a YouTube video that he quit stand-up for a few months after tanking (failing miserably) at a few open mics. In 2015, Rajat came back to Delhi and started working as a Project Head at Hansa Research Group Pvt. Ltd. Ltd. in Delhi. He worked there for two years and left it in 2017. While working in this firm, Rajat started performing at open mics after office hours. After leaving his corporate job in 2017, Rajat became a professional stand-up comedian. He started performing at corporate shows, wedding functions and even kitty parties and thus, his audience base changed from a handful to packed houses.
Rajat Chauhan’s journey from struggle to success
Rajat wrote a comedy special titled ‘Bachpan’ in 2019. He performed this special almost all over India, and his shows were often full.
Rajat rose to fame after his first YouTube video titled ‘Ola Share Ka Safar’ went viral in 2018; This video made him a star overnight. He has over 700k subscribers on his YouTube channel as of 2021.

- Rajat describes himself as a ‘storyteller’ and an ‘attention-grabber’. His content is mostly based on eccentric observations made about people’s mundane lives. Talking about the source of his humor in an interview, he said,
My source of humor is observation. Whatever is happening around me I observe them a little more closely than you [audience] Maybe they don’t. And maybe because I have been doing it for so many years, my perspective has become like this.
- According to Rajat, he was not much interested in studies during his school days. He scored 74.5% marks in class 10th and 75% marks in class 12th.
- Rajat considers Nitin Gupta (Rivaldo) as his favorite comedian.
- He is regularly featured in various popular entertainment magazines.
- Rajat is known for his clean comedy (without profanity). When asked about his bad content in a YouTube video, he said,
Man, I did not make any by-choice that I would never give derogatory material. Main Real Life Main Corporate I have worked and I generally don’t even give a lane, so the one who doesn’t give a closed lane, then generally there is no lane in his content. If you see stand-up comics who give gali, then I tell you that there is gali in their tone and not that they give gali on purpose.
