It was revealed on Monday night’s episode of american idol that someone who made it to the Top 26 had left the competition, but the show never revealed who that person was.
As it turns out, we never saw that contestant all season, but his identity has been revealed.
18-year-old singer Beckett Rex, son of actor Malcolm McDowell, made it to the Top 26 but dropped out of the competition before the show began airing this season. Apparently, the producers cut him out of the show entirely.
In an Instagram Story posted to her page, Beckett addressed her exit.

“For everyone wondering, yes I was on @americanidol and made it to the top 26,” Beckett said. “I am not going to say why I did not decide to continue in the competition, but what I will say is that it was my choice. I am forever grateful to myself. american idol My family and I will always remember the experience with the greatest gratitude and affection. Go vote for my friends now as they continue in the competition.”
Show representatives confirmed to Yahoo that Beckett “decided to leave the competition.”
Beckett also has a very famous sister-in-law.
