The Indian Premier League is known for its explosive football innings, with players looking to score big on the scoreboard. But recklessness often leads to low scores that the bowling side must defend. It is unusual for a team to score below 125 and win a match, but the IPL is known for its unpredictability. Anything can happen in a tournament. There is no security in IPL. Six points head-to-head in an inning, the entire team losing under 50 runs, and a run total on par with an average ODI game are phenomena commonly witnessed in IPL.
However, it is a very rare scenario for a team to successfully defend a low score. It happened a few times though. Watching a bowling-heavy match where the batsmen slowly choke and collapse under pressure doesn’t sound like much fun in theory, but it’s super fun to watch. Today we bring you a list of the lowest successfully defended scores in IPL history.

IPL Lowest Score Protected
The T20 format of cricket is difficult for all players but even harder for pitchers. There’s a lot of pressure on them and a few boundaries on each side is considered normal. However, it can affect the pitcher’s mindset in the long run. From bowling in the first round in the Cricket Test to conceding more than 40 times in four rounds, the IPL was non-stop. However, there are times when pitchers have complete control of the game.
Many times a team has been limited to double-digit scores by the opposing bowling team. But some games turn into bocce. Whether it’s the pitch or the hitters on both sides not matching, it’s not every day that one successfully defends a low score. Scores below the hundreds are considered an easy win for the pursuer, but not in subsequent IPL games. Check out the list of lowest totals ever protected in IPL history below. We only take into account matches that have been played in 20 rounds, not those that were stopped due to rain or any other event.
