In an interview, while talking about the theater play ‘Nanhi Ki Nani’, he said,
Yes, this is my first performance in UAE and I have butterflies. Well, this happens to me before every performance. We staged the play in Lahore two years ago and it got a very good response. It was gratifying to perform in a place where they understood the language. It was a joy to perform.
He added,
I play the character of Nanhi’s grandmother, who is an outcast and lives on the outskirts of the society. She survives on whatever is available in the locality. [community] People give it to her and all she has is her pillow – actually a pillowcase in which she keeps her belongings. Nobody cares about him. No one knows his name. Still he has this swagger [attitude] About that. He is pathetic yet funny. It is amazing to play such characters written by writers like Ismat Chughtai and Saadat Hasan Manto.”
He has worked with many Indian directors like Mani Ratnam, Anurag Kashyap and Govind Nihalini. Some of the Hindi films in which she acted are ‘Godmother’ (1999), ‘City of Joy’ (1992), and ‘Yuva’ (2004). In 2022, she appeared in the Hindi film ‘Badhaai Do’ starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar.

She has been conducting various acting workshops with the Mumbai-based theater group ‘Junoon Theatre’. Apart from acting, she is working as a storyteller in various schools.

- In an interview, she was asked whether she liked acting in TV serials or theater plays. He replied,
sheer volume [on TV] Destroys quality. This appears to be more of a marketing strategy than art. It’s all about TRP [television ratings point] Which I cannot understand. How is this not the norm in the outside world? In metropolitan cities of India, more and more people are now watching Pakistani serials as they not only have better storylines and performances but also do not drag on unnecessarily. Still, it must be said that there are some good stories that deal with the girl child and other social issues, although the percentage is small. So I love theater and mostly work with children, writing stories, conducting storytelling sessions and theater workshops with Junoon Theatre.
He added,
I have worked with good filmmakers, even though the working experience has not been great. Those roles were offered to me because they wanted an actress, not just a face. I have had the opportunity to work with Anurag Kashyap, Govind Nihalini and Mani Ratnam. Working with them, you are given a clear picture of what is expected of you and you are there because you are qualified for the role.
- Loveleen gave birth to her first child in her late 30s. He talked about this during an interview. He said,
The fact that my child was born at the age of 38 had more to do with my late marriage than pursuing my career. I was always clear that I wanted a child. Doctors had warned us about the dangers of late pregnancy and we had prepared ourselves for any eventuality. Those nine months were full of fear and anxiety. We agonized over every decision – professional and personal – to make sure everything was perfect.
