Taylor Swift is back in the news after a recent controversy on X, formerly known as Twitter. The pop star’s pornographic images falsely created using Artificial Intelligence caused a stir on the app.
AI images have prompted a group of US senators to introduce a new bill. The proposed bill would make it illegal to create pornographic images using other people’s likenesses. According to The Guardian, it’s a direct response to Swift’s AI photos.
“The measure would allow victims depicted in nude or sexually explicit “digital deepfakes” to seek a civil penalty against “the persons who produced or possessed the deepfake with the intent to distribute it” or any person who received the material knowing that it was not made with Your consent. ”wrote The Guardian.
Ed Sheeran opens up about AI
AI has become increasingly popular in recent years. It has some benefits. AI tools like Chat GPT have proven to be useful for students and professionals alike. However, some fear that AI could become dangerous.
Photos are not the only thing that can be manipulated. People’s voices can do it too. And being able to manipulate a person’s voiceprint could be a disaster. Singer Ed Sheeran believes the real danger is that people will start losing their jobs because of it.
“What I don’t understand about AI is that, for the last 60 years, Hollywood movies have been telling you, ‘Don’t do it.’ And now everyone is doing it. Haven’t you seen the movies where they kill us all? Sheeran said.
“I just don’t know why you need it; if you take a job away from a human being, I think that’s probably a bad thing. The goal of society is that we all do jobs. “AI seems a little strange to me.”
Taylor Swift sent warning from Fox News host
Swift may not be a politician, but she possesses political power. She was TIME’s 2023 Person of the Year and is one of the most revered celebrities of all time. It’s safe to say she has influence. As we approach the election season, US President Joe Biden is reportedly trying to win Swift’s endorsement. He would certainly help in his re-election effort.
But Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro warns Swift of the dangers of getting involved in politics.
“Why would someone as popular as her be alienated, and I’m not saying, you know… what’s going to be, ‘Yeah, people are going to hate her,’ but why alienate your fans and Swifties? You know, they come from all political ideologies, why put yourself in one area? Pyrrhus said.
“And Joe Biden is in [a] hole with young people, he knows it. And if he thinks Taylor can get him out of that hole, he’ll try.”
