Dmitry said he is in good health but is in hospital and is also the first cyclist to test positive for COVID-19 after the UAE Tour was abruptly stopped. The authority kept all the runners and race staff in the hotels while they carried out the tests.

Strakhov and the team were in the United Arab Emirates participating in the UAE team when the outbreak of the global COVID-19 pandemic spread across the country. Authorities allowed approximately 500 people to leave the United Arab Emirates after a few days of the coronavirus outbreak.

In addition, the authority released the French cycling teams Cofidis and Groupama-FDJ over the weekend. Are there other positive cases?

Among the runners, local authorities confirmed two positive cases of CoronaVirus initially in one team. However, the UAE Ministry of Health said in a statement that there were six confirmed cases. Among them were two Russians, two Italians, a German and a Colombian.

Besides, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported the same week that there were twelve cases related to the UAE Tour, including four riders who tested positive for the virus.
