Lauren Jauregui denounces celebrities’ responses to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and shares her position | Israel, Lauren Jáuregui | Just Jared: Celebrity News and Gossip

Lauren Jauregui is weighing in on the latest developments in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and criticizing other celebrities’ response.

In case you didn’t know, the Palestinian militant group Hamas attacked Israeli civilians on Saturday (October 7), killing more than 900 people at a music festival. More than 700 people in Gaza were killed by Israel’s retaliatory airstrikes.

Now, the Israeli government is forcing Gaza civilians to evacuate south.

On Friday (October 13), the former Fifth Harmony member, 27, I had a lot to say about the tragic events on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“Just a bunch of terrorists screaming terrorism,” Lauren began. “At least learn the history of a situation before you feel entitled to lend your voice to it. I’m especially talking to celebrities (especially artists) who I think don’t really understand their impact most of the time or the real history of things, especially in times like this.”

He continued: “My heart goes out to the innocent lives lost to the perpetuation of the vile legacy of imperialism, colonization, apartheid and ignorance. All of this is a profound example of the impact of intergenerational trauma that we continue to overlook as a collective. Those who were once victims of persecution became oppressors and were so cognitively dissonant about hypocrisy.”

“My heart aches for children used as pawns in men’s political games,” the singer wrote. “Women raped, mutilated, filmed and dragged through the streets to fuel justifications and calls for more violence. I no longer care what grown men want to destroy in the name of their infinite and insatiable greed and obsession to dominate everything that breathes. I want us to be free. “I want us to have critical conversations with nuance and historical context and trust people with degrees and experience.”

It’s the only thing they have left now, their illusion. The sooner you understand this, the more critical your perception of the situation will be.”

“Please also check your sources when you speak,” he urged. “I am in favor of the freedom of all the oppressed. I deeply condemn the violation of human rights and the violence of genocidal ethnic cleansing that we are witnessing in real time of the Palestinian people. And I pray for all the victims and their families and for the collective liberation of all people from the blood-soaked hands of colonization and the evil legacy that stems from its existence. This all starts with the British Empire, by the way, if you want to talk about who started it. Pick up a book. God bless us all.”

Gigi Hadid, whose father is from Palestine, also recently broke her silence on this painful issue.

On Thursday (October 12), more than 700 celebrities signed an open letter in support of Israel following the Hamas attacks.
