As the Hulu’s Mike premiere draws near, there’s renewed interest in the cast of Trevante Rhodes, Harvey Keitel and Laura Harrier, who star in the Mike Tyson biopic. Tyson’s life on and off the ring will be the focus of a limited series of films, following his controversial but hugely successful career.
This series, directed by Steven Rogers, will premiere on Hulu on August 25, 2022. The series synopsis is as follows:
“MIKE is a new show from creator/writer Steven Rogers and the people behind me, Tony, as well as host Karin Gist, executive producer of Our Kind of People. The eight-episode limited series explores Tyson’s turbulent boxing career and personal life, from world-famous athlete to outcast and back. The series addresses class in America, racism in America, celebrities and the power of the media, sexism, the gap between rich and poor, the promise of the American Dream and, ultimately, our own involvement in crafting Mike’s story through the lens of Mike Tyson.”

Mike’s ensemble seems to have many stars, and the inclusion of Laura Harrier is another step in the right direction. Since the age of 17, the American actress and model has attracted attention. She was born on March 28, 1990 in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Evanston, Illinois, where she attended Evanston Township High School.
She became interested in acting when her mother enrolled her in acting classes as a child. As a child, she suffered from a speech disorder, so she had low self-esteem and acting classes helped her overcome this. Although involved in theater and theatre, she became interested in fashion while in high school. At the age of 17, she began modeling and moved to New York to study art history at New York University’s Gallatin School of Personal Studies.
Her modeling career was a huge success, and she was represented by such prestigious names as IMG Models, Wilhelmina Models and Elite Model Management. She started acting in commercials and student films after becoming dissatisfied with her simple modeling job. Laura Harrier studied acting at the William Esper studio for two years.
Laura Harrier made her debut in the soap opera One Life to Live (2013). Harrier made his cinematic debut in The Last Five Years after a few guest appearances (2014). She then rose to international fame in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) as Liz Allan, Peter’s high school sweetheart. She is also the main character in the critically acclaimed film BlacKkKlansman (2018).
She also starred in films such as Balance, Not Symmetry, The Starling and Spider-Man: No Way Home (cameo). She will now play Robin Givens in a new Hulu show, and her character looks pretty interesting in the trailer. Mike will air on Hulu on August 25, 2022.
