Laxmi Singh was born on Thursday, 2 May 1974 (age 48 years; as in 2022) in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Taurus. She did her schooling from Loreto Convent Intermediate College, Lucknow. A brilliant student, Lakshmi stood second in Uttar Pradesh in the Class 10 board exams. He studied B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with Gold Medal from Institute of Engineering and Technology. After this he did MA in Sociology. In 2000, she passed the Civil Services Examination and became an IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre.

Later Lakshmi was posted as Principal in the Police Training School, Meerut for some time. On 28 November 2022, she was appointed as the Police Commissioner of Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida), becoming the first woman Police Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh. He replaced Alok Singh, who was transferred as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) to the DGP office in Lucknow. The commissioner system was implemented in Noida in 2020.
