Kumar Varun is an Indian comedian, actor, screenwriter and quiz master who created a YouTube channel called Random Chikibum with Rahul Subramaniam in 2015. He is also known for appearing in several comedy skits made by All India Bakchod (AIB).

Kumar Varun got into a relationship in the first year of engineering. In an interview, he told that there was a small group of North Indian students and both he and his girlfriend were part of that group. She was a resident of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Talking about this he said,
We were in South India and naturally, we North Indians came together and formed a small group. Everyone in the group became a couple and hence, in the first year of engineering, I got into a relationship with a girl from Lucknow.

After completing engineering, Kumar Varun started working as a systems engineer in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). He worked there from September 2008 to May 2011. While working with TCS, Kumar Varun worked as a strategic advisor with the Government of India to implement better software and technology to improve the core working capabilities of the government. In April 2012, he joined Club Mahindra in Mumbai, where he worked as a GMC Summer Intern until June 2012. Kumar Varun worked in the Group Management Cadre (GMC) of Mahindra & Mahindra from April 2013 to June 2015. In June 2013, he joined Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Limited as a marketing manager and worked there till June 2015. He joined The Development Bank of Singapore Limited (DBS Bank) in June 2015 and worked as a Senior Manager in Group Strategic Marketing & Communications until June 2017.

Kumar Varun’s career as a comedian began when he met Rahul Subramaniam while working with Mahindra & Mahindra. In an interview, Kumar said that he met Rahul after he hosted an event organized by a B-school in Mumbai. Talking about it he said.
Rahul came to me in the office. He was from a different team and I was from a different team. When I hosted a program and did some mimicry and comedy acting as a host from a B-school, I became popular in the office. Rahul, who was on leave on the day of the event, was told about me and later he contacted me and asked if I had ever done stand-up comedy.
When Varun was working with DBS Bank, he was approached by Rahul, who convinced him to participate with him in the comedy hunt of Only Much Louder. To participate in the competition, Kumar and Rahul created their YouTube channel Random Chikibum in 2015, which has over 708K subscribers as of January 2023. He also has a self-titled YouTube channel, which has over 23k subscribers as of January 2023. In an interview, Kumar talked about his first video with Rahul and said that it was based on an interview between a boss and a candidate; However, the video was stopped because it was longer than the time limit set by Comedy Hunt. The duo later published their first video, Kata Sky, on YouTube and sent it to Comedy Hunt as their official entry. Later Kumar and Rahul emerged victorious in the competition. Talking about this he said,
We teamed up and started working on the script of our skit for the competition. The first script was based on an interview in which I was the boss and Rahul was a candidate. This did not happen as the script resulted in a six-minute long video, whereas Comedy Hunt had demanded a 2 to 3-minute long video. So we left it. Later, Rahul said that he had a script on a call center and we moved forward on that and made Kata Sky, which also became the first video on our YouTube channel.

Kumar and Rahul uploaded a YouTube series Random Office on Random Chibibum in 2016. In the series, Kumar Varun played the role of a character named Madan Mathews. In 2016, he played a character named Atul Naak in Sumukhi Suresh’s YouTube series Behti Naak. The same year, he appeared in the first season of a YouTube series called Better Life Foundation, in which he played the role of Anirban.
