Haryana Janhit Congress – (HJC) (BL)

After Kuldeep was expelled from the Indian National Congress in 2007, Kuldeep Bishnoi, along with his father Bhajan Lal Bishnoi, founded his own political party, Haryana Janhit Congress – (HJC) (BL). He was expelled for blaming the then Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for harming the interests of Haryana’s farmers by promoting Special Economic Zones (SEZs) on fertile lands.

He contested and won the election from Adampur constituency. His father contested and won from Hisar Lok Sabha constituency. Following the announcement of the election results, six of the seven elected representatives of the Haryana Janhit Congress – (HJC) (BL) party reiterated their support to the Indian National Congress. These representatives were lured by the Congress for some important ministerial posts. Kuldeep Bishnoi filed cases against these six representatives in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which cited in its judgment that the betrayers were disqualified from being appointed as members of the Haryana Legislative Assembly.

The alliance ceremony of both the parties was attended by famous BJP leaders like Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj and former minister Professor Ganeshi Lal during a press meet. Subsequently, he contested the elections again from Adampur constituency in the same year and won the election by defeating his rivals Ajay Singh Chautala of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Jai Prakash of the Indian National Congress. In 2014, just before the assembly elections in Haryana, the alliance between the two parties ended. Kuldeep Bishnoi claimed the reason for the breakup while talking to the media. He said that BJP is not keeping the party’s conditions. In 2022, he was expelled from the Indian National Congress and on 4 August 2022, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
