Kriti Kritivasan alias K. Krithivasan was born in 1965 (age 58 years; as of 2023) in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. He did his schooling from ER Higher Secondary School in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. In 1985, he graduated from Coimbatore Institute of Technology in Tamil Nadu with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1986, he earned a master’s degree in Industrial and Management Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur.

In 1989, Kritivasan joined Tata Consultancy Services in New Delhi. At TCS, he has held key positions in various departments including delivery, customer relationship management and sales. Krittivasan has assisted key clients with IT program governance, value creation beyond cost minimization, accelerating change management cycles and digital transformation. Prior to his appointment as CEO of Tata Consultancy Services, he served as President and Global Head of Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) Business Group at TCS. Before moving to Chennai, he worked with TCS in Los Angeles. On 16 March 2023, he was appointed as the CEO-designate of TCS after Rajesh Gopinathan resigned as MD and CEO of TCS. It is said that he will take over as the Managing Director and CEO of TCS on September 15, 2023. Krithivasan is also a member of the Board of Directors of TCS Iberoamerica, TCS Ireland and the Supervisory Board of TCS Technology Solutions AG.
