Konstantin Andreev was born on March 14, 1848, in Moscow, Russia, and his full name was Konstantin Alekseevich Andreev.

There he worked on his thesis, “On geometric correspondences applied to the problem of the construction of curves”. In February 1879, he was appointed a full professor at Kharkiv University and the Kharkiv Institute of Technology.
In addition, he was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1884 and presented his work “On Poncelet’s Polygons” at a conference in La Rochelle, France. Later, he returned to Moscow in 1898 to take up a post as a professor in the Department of Mathematics at Moscow University.
Simultaneously, he became director of the Alexander Business School until 1907 and worked extensively in the secondary education system. In addition, he was the first elected dean of the Moscow University Faculty of Physics and Mathematics from 1905 to 1911, where he instituted the standard system of lecture cycles.
