Kent Hrbek is a former American Major League Baseball first baseman, divorced from his wife Jeanie Hrbek after more than 30 years of marriage. Hrbek was surprised when he found out about his divorce. He moved on and now has a girlfriend named Kristen Thoen. Interestingly, when they first met, Kristen had no idea that Kent was a famous baseball player. He was born on May 21, 1960 and went to Kennedy High School in Bloomington, Minnesota. Hrbek was selected in the 17th round of the 1978 Major League Baseball draft by his hometown Minnesota Twins. He spent his 14-year baseball career with the Twins, from 1981 to 1994. On April 3, 1982, during an exhibition game against the Phillies, Hrbek hit the first home run in the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. It was a significant success for his team.
Former Twins pitcher Jim Kaat said Hrbek was the best first baseman ever. Furthermore, he was an All-Star in 1982 and helped the Twins win the World Series in 1987 and 1991. Hrbek retired after the players’ strike in 1994. He did this to avoid recurring injuries and spend more time with his family in Bloomington, Minnesota.

He promotes Carrier Heating and Air Conditioning products and has baseball fields named after him in Bloomington. Hrbek’s father died of ALS in 1982, and since then he has been an advocate for raising awareness and funding for ALS research.
