Secondary and university career
In the early days of his junior year, he played senior guard Simeon Career in a 53-51 victory at Madison Square Garden.

From 2011 to 2014, after leaving the University of Connecticut, he entered the 2011 NBA draft. He was then chosen ninth overall by the Charlotte Bobcats.
After that, he played in the 2012 Rising Stars Challenge during All-Star weekend. Likewise, he won the first game of his life in his NBA career.
He completed the 2012-2013 season with 17.7 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.7 assists.
