Kathy Orr was born in West Vale, Geddes, New York, United States, on October 18, 1965. She has American nationality. Career
In January 2003, Kathy Orr began her career at KYW-TV as chief meteorologist. She made her debut the same night as Marc Howard, who had been an anchor for WPVI, ABC O&O in Philadelphia. Later, she worked for WCAU-TV, where she worked as a weekend meteorologist.
When John Bolaris left WCAU, she was reportedly offered the position of chief meteorologist, but she turned it down because KYW-TV offered her a higher salary. Glenn Schwartz eventually accepted WCAU’s offer.
Orr is credited with coming up with the name “Live Mega Doppler 3” for his radar shortly after joining the station. She was also the first to create a summer series focused on the Jersey Shore. “Orr at the Shore” aired on Thursdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day for more than a decade.

In August 2011, it was announced that Orr would only handle the 10 pm weather on CW Philly 57 and the 11 pm weather on CBS3. He wanted to spend more time with his family, so he alone handled the weather at 10 pm on CBS3. Kate Bilo, morning meteorologist, filled Orr’s vacancy between 5 and 6 p.m. When new management took over CBS3, she and sports director Beasley Reece were fired.
Orr announced on 94.1 WIP radio on September 13, 2015 that he would return full time at FOX 29 and would now do afternoon and late night shows at 5, 6, 10 and 11 p.m.

Kathy Orr, the first meteorologist in the Philadelphia television market. In 1999, she was named “Rookie of the Year” by the Delaware County Times. For her forecasting and reporting, Orr received eight Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards for Outstanding Meteorologist.
