Following the incident, Mahesh was banned from entering Hyderabad for a period of six months by the Telangana Police on 9 July 2018, under the Telangana Prevention of Anti-Social and Dangerous Activities Act, 1980.

Death

Mahesh Kathi breathed his last on 10 July 2021 at Apollo Hospital in Chennai after suffering respiratory failure. The hospital management confirmed the news to a local daily and said,

Kathi Mahesh died on July 10 at 4 pm. His condition was critical since Friday night and he died due to respiratory complications.

Kathi met with a road accident on June 26, 2021, at Chandrasekharapuram village in Kodavalur mandal of Nellore. The actor was in his Innova when it collided with a container truck, seriously injuring him. He was immediately admitted to Medicover Hospital in Nellore and was undergoing treatment. He was later shifted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai for better treatment. The Andhra Pradesh government also provided a sum of Rs. Rs 17 lakh for his treatment.
