Katharine McPhee opens up about life with husband David Foster!

Katharine was asked to share the secret to making her marriage work and she also opened up about raising her two-year-old son Rennie.

“Therapy. A good therapist,” Katharine told E! News about the key to their relationship. “Or that you just have someone in your life or another partner in your life that helps you when there is discord or disagreements.”
“I really feel like you can talk about almost anything, but you have to have the language, the vocabulary to do it. That takes practice, self-awareness, and skills to facilitate those conversations,” she continued.
“We met 18 years ago in this same space, like a recording studio, in a work environment,” he said. “So that’s where we really know each other best: knowing the ease, the greatness and the way he works and always gets the best out of people.”
Katharine spoke with Us weekly about the differences between her and David in parenting styles.
“We just have different ways of approaching the limits,” he said. “I would say I’m more of that new generation of kind parents, who explain and have a little more patience in a new way than I think the previous generation was taught to be parents.”
But they agree on something!
“We don’t tolerate any nonsense,” he said. “We don’t want him to be an idiot. He [needs] be kind, polite, obedient, have your own voice and all that, but only [be] a good boy”.
