Kate Middleton fuels rumors with apology for controversial family photo

Adding to the royal rumors, Kate Middleton apologizes for her recent controversial family photo.

Within hours of Middleton posting the photograph, which shows her with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, on the Prince and Princess of Wales’s Instagram account, many media outlets accused Kensington Palace officials to manipulate her.

Several photo agencies, including the Associated Press and Reuters, issued a “takedown notice” and removed the photo over editorial concerns.

The Associated Press spoke about the removal saying, “It appears the source has manipulated the image.”

Reuters also stated that the photo was removed after a “post-publication review.”

Meanwhile, Kate Middleton took to the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Instagram Stories to post an apology for the image.

“Like many amateur photographers, I experiment with editing from time to time. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion caused by the family photo we shared yesterday. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”

The image is the first official photograph that Kate Middle has published since she was last seen publicly on Christmas Day. The Princess of Wales underwent abdominal surgery in January and remained out of the public eye while she recovered.

Kensington Palace disputes claim that Kate Middleton was in a coma after abdominal surgery

After her abdominal operation in mid-January, journalist Concha Calleja stated in party that Kate Middleton was placed in a coma after experiencing complications following her abdominal surgery.

“The doctors had to make drastic decisions at that time due to the complications that arose,” Calleja said, according to The times.

“The decision was to put her in an induced coma. They had to intubate her. There were serious complications that were not expected because the operations went well, but the postoperative period was not so good.”

Calleja further stated that Kate Middleton’s life was in “great danger” while she recovered. She also set up “practically an entire hospital” in her royal home.

However, a palace course said The times that Calleja’s claims are “total” nonsense. “That journalist made no attempt to verify anything he said with anyone in the house. “It is fundamentally, totally made up, and I will use polite English here: it is not the case at all.”

According to Kensington Palace, the planned surgery took place on January 16 at The London Clinic. Approximately 13 days after her recovery, Kate Middleton was able to return to her home in Windsor to continue the process. The Palace stated that Middleton is not expected to return to her royal duties until after Easter.

“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate,” the Palace shared in a statement. “She hopes the public understands her desire to maintain as much normality as possible for her children; and her desire that her personal medical information remain private.”

“Therefore, Kensington Palace will only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’s progress when there is significant new information to share.”
