Choupette, Karl Lagerfeld’s iconic cat, was on many stars’ minds as they dressed up for the 2023 Met Gala earlier this week.
If you didn’t know, this year’s biggest night in fashion was themed around art and designer impact. While many attendees paid tribute to her directly, others wore looks inspired by Choupette.
For example, Jared Leto dressed in a cat costume with a furry head. Doja Cat wore prosthetics to achieve a similar feline-inspired look, and Lil Nas X put a more conceptual spin on the homage.
Choupette shouted out the tributes in a new social media post. However, one of the aforementioned stars didn’t make the cut.

“Do I have a twin somewhere?” the cat wrote alongside photos from the red carpet in a new post on Instagram. “I qualify [Doja Cat] and [Jared Leto’s] suits 100/10.”
“What’s wrong with you? How much would you rate them? Did you see the Met Gala?” he added, asking his fans what they thought.
Several fans took to the comments section to point out that Lil Nas X also paid tribute to Choupette. While his silver, pearl-studded look was more conceptual, the rapper gave an interview on the red carpet where he only responded by meowing, just like doja.

Choupette also released a statement to let fans know why she herself did not attend the Met Gala this year.
