He dated his childhood friend Devika Mehra, who is a fashion designer, for about 10 years and they got married in 2009. While talking about him during an interview, Karan said,

Maybe we are not made for each other. 10 years of childhood friendship and eight years of marriage could not withstand the onslaught of the glamor world.
