That touchdown was the first time Kelce scored in eight games. After crossing the end zone, CBS cameras showed the tight end pointing a heart toward the top of the stadium. The gesture was apparently in response to the reaction of his brother and his new boyfriend. Country music star Taylor Swift was also present at the highly anticipated showdown.
Aside from the obvious excitement of the moment, it was also a milestone in Travis’ career.
He and Mahomes became the second quarterback and tight end combination to have 15 touchdowns in the playoffs. After scoring a second touchdown in the second half, they have the most all-time with 16.
New England Patriots legends Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady come in second with 15. San Francisco 49ers legends Joe Montana and Jerry Rice are next on the list with 12.
Chiefs owner breaks silence on Taylor Swift
Not everyone has been excited about Travis and Taylor Swift’s new relationship. But the most notable disdain comes from NFL fans. His biggest complaint has been how the country music star’s extensive coverage has distracted from the game. But Chiefs owner Clark Hunt doesn’t see any problems with the new “it” couple.
“We are very happy for Travis Kelce and Taylor’s relationship,” Hunt said.
“I had the opportunity to meet her at one of the many games she attended this year and she is as sweet as can be. I also got to see her play here twice last summer, and she was an incredible performer. One of the most incredible artists of our time.”
