“Vote for Educated”: Karan Sangwan’s Controversial Appeal
In 2023, Karan Sangwan faced controversy when he encouraged students, in one of his lectures, to vote for “educated candidates” during elections. Responding to this, Unacademy’s co-founder Roman Saini announced Karan’s dismissal from the company through a post on X, citing it as a violation of the company’s code of conduct. In the post, Saini emphasized that the company’s commitment is to offer quality education and ensure an impartial learning environment. He noted that Karan breached this commitment by expressing personal opinions that could potentially misguide students.
