Biography
Jyotsna Suri is the Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Hotels Limited which runs a chain of luxury 5-star hotels under ‘The Lalit’. Born on 20 July 1952, she studied at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, Himachal Pradesh. Later, he completed his bachelor’s degree in English Honors from Miranda House, Delhi University. She is a recipient of ‘Doctor of Laws’ (Honorary) from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
livelihood
Jyotsna Suri started her career in 1987 as Joint Managing Director at Bharat Hotels Limited. A workaholic hotelier, she took over the role of chairperson and managing director in 2006 after the demise of her husband, group founder, Lalit Suri. Two years later, he led a successful brand transformation for The Lalit – a hotel chain under the Lalit Suri Hospitality Group. He was elected as the President of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in 2014.
Family
Wife of Lalit Suri, founder of Bharat Hotels Limited, Dr. Jyotsna Suri is the mother of four children – three daughters (Diksha Suri, Divya Suri, Shraddha Suri) and a son (Keshav Suri). Late Lalit Suri was a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha (upper house of the Parliament of India) from Uttar Pradesh.
