Julia Fox, known for her role in uncut gems and his recently published memoirs, Down the drainshared her unique perspective on the dominatrix world in a recent interview with vanity fair. During the interview, Fox discussed his own past as a dominatrix and offered some cheeky advice to comedian Pete Davidson, recommending that he consider visiting a dominatrix.
Fox, who once worked as a dominatrix, shared information about her former profession during the vanity fair interview. She revealed that much of what she did in the role of her dominatrix was improvised and she explained that she had to play various roles depending on the preferences of her clients. Her dominatrix work was dynamic and each session required her to adapt and exercise her acting skills.
“It was improvisation all day. She would have to be a bad nun, a fucking popular girl in high school,” Fox recalled. “Whatever the client wanted. And I only had a couple of minutes to get ready, get dressed and get ready for it.”
She went on to explain that this on-the-spot improvisation not only helped her develop her acting skills, but also shaped her ability to act in different roles and settings.
When asked if some comedians could benefit from the experience of being a dominatrix, Fox responded humorously, saying that she believes “anyone” could benefit from it, even suggesting that Pete Davidson, in particular, could benefit from watching a dominatrix.
Shown a photo of Davidson, Fox jokingly commented, “I think I probably need to see more of a dominatrix.”
She cheerfully shared her hunch about Davidson’s possible interests in dominatrix experiences, suggesting that he might enjoy humiliation and degradation as part of his preferences.
He humorously concluded with an invitation to Davidson, saying, “Hit me, Pete.”
A unique perspective
Fox’s unique perspective on the dominatrix profession is based on her own experiences, which she detailed in her memoir, Down the drain. She began working as a dominatrix at the age of 18, after responding to a Craigslist ad advertising a “no sex, no nudity” position. She was intrigued by her offer and was hired on the spot.
For six months, Fox juggled her role as a dominatrix with her daytime responsibilities as a high school student. The income from her dominatrix job allowed him to get her own apartment in the Meatpacking district and share it with a friend of hers.
During the interview with vanity fair, Fox revealed his favorite activity in the dungeon and shared that he had clients interested in “ball busting,” which involves kicking clients’ testicles. She described this practice as “highly therapeutic” and even offered to do it for free, jokingly stating that “to bust balls, I’ll do it for free.” If you want to bust balls, it’s free. Anything else, it’s $10,000 an hour.”
