Chris Wallace just found out that Jon Hamm almost played his father Mike Wallace in a movie.

During the conversation, Jon revealed that he was offered the similar role of playing Mike Wallace, known for his tough interviews.

“You know, after Don Draper made an impact on the zeitgeist, I…every script I was offered had a cigarette, a hat, and a skinny tie. In fact, at one point I was offered to play your father,” he said via TheWrap.
“In a movie. “It was an original script that someone had written about your father’s life.”
“They sent it to me. And I was like, this script is total nonsense,” Chris noted.
“That’s partly why I didn’t do the role. The other part is that I consciously stayed away from parts like that because that was my day job,” Jon said.
“The best part about being an actor is that you can do other things. You don’t have to do the same thing every day, and for that, fortunately, I was able to do it and I give all the credit in the world to Lorne Michaels of Saturday night live —Honestly who said I wonder if this guy is funny? And I have to be a host SNL in 2009 I think it was and that gave me a little bit of credibility on the other side of the aisle, so to speak. “I have a completely different side of my career to explore.”
