JoJo Siwa opens up about coming out as a teenager.
The one who is now 20 years old dance moms The student just launched her iHeartMedia podcast. JoJo Siwa nowwho reflects on his past and his future.
During the conversation, he talked about what it meant to come out at a young age and how it “meant a lot” to be chosen. dancing with the stars as part of the first same-sex couple in 2021.

“I came out when I was 17, but at the time I didn’t understand the importance of that. I didn’t understand why that scared me,” she said.
I remember I was on the phone with my girlfriend at the time and I said, ‘I think I want to come out,’ and she said, ‘Okay, do it.'” So I posted this photo. and I threw it on my Instagram Story, and so I confirmed it,” she went on to say.
Regardless of the answer, JoJo “didn’t think twice.”
“Of course there was a lot of positivity and love and acceptance, but then there was a lot of negativity and I lost a lot,” she said of the experience.
“I didn’t care, and I still don’t care [about] “The things I lost and the people I lost and yes I lost a lot of fans… because that’s what I am.”
“I built my career by being genuine and if you didn’t like me because in January I was straight and the next day in January I was gay, then you don’t like me anyway. I just try to be really genuine, really be who I am,” she said.
