John Gotti was an American mobster and the head of one of the most powerful American mafia families – Gambino. John Gotti was involved in murder, conspiracy to commit murder, heroin trafficking, extortion, loan sharking, illegal gambling, undercover crimes, tax evasion, obstruction of justice, etc.
Early life
John Gotti was born on October 27, 1940, in the South Bronx, New York. His father is J. Joseph Gotti and his mother is Fannie Gotti. Both were Italian immigrants. He was the fifth of 13 children in a family whose income came solely from his father’s unpredictable work as a day laborer. In addition, his family moved frequently before settling in East New York, an area known for gang activity.
