Jodie Foster explains why she hid her acting career from her young children.

While reflecting on her nearly six decades in the entertainment industry, Jodie opened up about why her children didn’t know about her film career until they were older.

“I guess I just didn’t want to be known that way,” the two-time Oscar winner said during an appearance on The view on Friday (January 19). “I wanted them to know me as his mother and the person who went to work and stuff. I just didn’t want them to be confused about what she did for a living.”
Jodie said she even convinced her eldest son that she was a construction worker.
“I took him to the set one day and bought him a little plastic tool belt and stuff,” he explained. “And I was like, ‘Yeah, and this is this set and this set and this set.’ And for a long time he thought I was a construction worker.”
He Taxi driver The actress admitted that although Charlie and Kit now know about her Hollywood career, they “have no interest in watching my movies with me.”
He added that there are “some movies I would never show because I would be worried about being made fun of,” like 1994. Nellin which she played a woman who grew up isolated.
“They often make fun of me for it, even though they’ve never seen the movie,” he said.
However, Jodie believes her children will tune in to her new project.
“I think they are going to catch real detective because they like that a lot,” he said.
