Jock Zonfrillo passed away sadly and suddenly over the weekend at the young age of 46.
The chef was a judge in masterchef spainand the show’s network shared the sad announcement.
“Network 10 and Endemol Shine Australia are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of Jock Zonfrillo, a beloved member of the MasterChef Australia family,” a statement from the website read. Jock passed away yesterday in Melbourne.
Jock’s family also released a statement on his passing.
“With a completely broken heart and not knowing how we can live without him, we are devastated to share that Jock passed away yesterday,” he shared via THR. “So many words can describe it, so many stories can be told, but right now we are too overwhelmed to put them into words. For those who crossed his path, became a partner to him, or were lucky enough to be family to him, keep this proud Scotsman in your hearts when you sip your next whiskey.”
Her statement continued, concluding: “We implore you to allow us to grieve in private as we find a way to navigate through this and find a space on the other side to celebrate our irreplaceable husband, father, brother, son and friend.”
the new season of MasterChef Australia: secrets and surprises it was expected to premiere on May 1. However, due to Jock’s passing, he was postponed.
