Jerome Tang is a college basketball coach who currently leads the Kansas State University Wildcats. He was born on October 7, 1966 in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, but moved to Texas at the age of ten.
While nothing is known about his playing career, Jerome began his coaching career in 1993. He coached basketball at Heritage Christian Academy for eleven years. He later joined Baylor University as an assistant coach under Scott Drew. He rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the assistant head coach in 2017. Tang was instrumental in Baylor’s quest for a national title in 2021. Tang was named the next head coach of the Kansas State Wildcats on March 21, 2022, succeeding Bruce Weber, who left to pension.

After they married in 1997, they adopted Lamar and Richard Hurd, and later had a son, Ayvin Seven Tang, and a daughter, Aylyn Tang. Tang routinely honors all of his sons, both biological and adopted, especially at events such as National Sons Day, emphasizing the family bond. Jerome’s son, Ayvin Seven Tang, currently attends Baylor University in Texas. He was born on January 11, 2001 in Cleveland, Texas.
He graduated from Live Oak Classical School in 2020 and was a cheerleader there. Similarly, his sister, Aylyn (pronounced Island), graduated high school in 2022. On May 29, 2022, Jerome happily posted a photo of Alylyn’s graduation and congratulated his future Wildcat in a touching post.
